    About Us

About three miles south east of the TajMahal, in the village of BamrauliKatara, there is a charity Higher Secondary School, "MangalickShiksha Kendra."The school was installed by the trust founded by Mr. P.C. Mangalick, Sr.Mr. Mangalick Sr. felt strongly that he should provide for the education of the girls in the villages around the city of Agra. During 1993, he identified a tract of seven acres of land on Fatehabad Road, a major road, which runs south east of Agra, going through the TajMahalarea, leading to Fatehabad, a village about twelve miles away from the TajMahal. The land was in the village of BamrauliKatara, about three miles from the TajMahal. The land was purchased for about eighteen lacs of rupees, equivalent to US$36,000.
As directed by Mr. P.C. Mangalick, the school buildings were constructed. Furniture was fabricated on the premises. Utility services were arranged. During 1997, the school opened for boys and girls, initially as a primary education school for education up to fifth standard.
Within a few years the school developed into a high school, for which affiliation was sought from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). All the requirements for the affiliation with the CBSE board were arranged, and CBSE granted the affiliation for High School education during 2005, after the usual inspections carried out by the CBSE appointed team of inspectors.
Today, about 750 boys and girls come to school in busses operated by the school. Seven busses and two vans start at 6 AM, going on prescribed routes to various village communities, picking up the children. Seven busses cannot pick up all the students in one trip per bus. Few busses have to make two trips. At the end of the school day, around 2 PM, the busses take the students back to their homes. Teachers are also transported to school in a bus going around the city of Agra, from where most of the teachers come.
